Terms of Service & Copyright Policy

1. What CampusThread is

CampusThread hosts independent, student-run community spaces for individual colleges and universities. Each community is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the institution it is named after, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

2. User-generated content & your certification

Posts, comments, notes, PYQs, and any files you upload are generated by users, not by CampusThread. By posting or uploading content, you certify that:

• you own the content, or have the right/permission to share it;
• it does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, or other rights; and
• it does not contain unlawful, defamatory, or malicious material.

CampusThread does not pre-screen or pre-approve content before it is published. This preserves our status as an intermediary under Section 79 of India's Information Technology Act, 2000 — we are not liable as a publisher of user content, provided we act on valid takedown notices as described below.

3. Reporting infringing or violating content

Every post has a "Report" option. You can also send a takedown request directly to our Grievance Officer:

A valid takedown request should include:

• a link to the specific post/content;
• a description of the right being infringed;
• your contact information; and
• a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.

4. Our response timeline

• Acknowledgement of a valid report or takedown request: within 24 hours.
• Action (removal, disabling access, or a decision not to act with reasons given): within 48 hours of a valid notice.
• Repeat-infringement accounts are subject to suspension.

5. Moderation

Each college community has student moderators who review reports first. Unresolved or legally sensitive matters are escalated to the platform's Grievance Officer.

6. Changes to these terms

We may update this policy as the platform grows. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
